Art Club: Make Your Own Pamphlet Journal & Cover
Art Club
Learn how to make your own journal and go home with a fully bound journal to use on your next vacation.
There's something satisfying about a journal you've built with your own hands — one that doesn't just hold your words but was shaped by you from the first fold. This month's Art Club is all about pamphlet binding: the simple, centuries-old stitch that turns loose paper into a proper book.
You'll learn the full process start to finish — folding signatures, marking and piercing your stitch points, and sewing the pamphlet stitch that holds it all together. Then you'll move on to constructing a coordinating cover, choosing your own paper and embellishments to make the journal feel like yours. It's a technique that looks intricate but comes together quickly once you see the logic of it, and it's one you'll be able to repeat at home long after the workshop ends.
Expect to leave with a finished, fully bound journal — not a kit, not a half-step, the real thing — ready to fill with notes, sketches, or whatever you're working through.
All supplies provided. No bookbinding experience necessary.
