This morning I listened to a podcast about fireflies, and it took me straight back to Midwest summer backyard BBQs and hikes through green fields. Summer officially arrives in a few days, so this month's boxes are built around those Midwest summer moments. I know you're not rushing outside in our 108-degree heat to make s'mores, but maybe you've got fond memories of them.

When we lived in the Midwest, I mourned the summer solstice. The longest day of the year meant we were losing light and heading into colder, darker nights. Here in Phoenix, we celebrate it — the longest day means we're moving toward cooler temps and the loveliest weather of the year.

So here's to summer solstice, to margaritas by the pool (non-alcoholic, if you're like me), and to a cheese plate that makes wherever you live feel a little more like a celebration.
